Accessibility Compliance Issues For Blind People Using Screen Reader

As someone who is blind and relies on using assistive technology called a screen reader to use technology, N8N is currently impossible to create, configure, manage, and edit workflows.

This makes N8N impossible for a blind person to use, because of the UI being visual and primarily drag and drop.

While I understand the power of this UI, and the simplicity it brings for most users, this is an accessibility nightmare when it comes to someone who relies on using a screen reader like myself.

It would be great if all buttons, images, links, etc were all labeled properly, and accessible.

It would be great, even though the primary UI is visual, that there be a shell, a chat interface, or some way for me to be able to 100% independently use N8N just like everyone else.

I’m not asking for a feature update. I’m simply asking for you guys to make the platform accessible so everyone, including blind people, can use the platform independently like everyone else.

You could imagine, trying to drag and drop to build a workflow, but all of the buttons just said “Button”, and everything on the screen was the same color. That is kind of what it’s like right now.

I’m having to vibe code my own apps to set up automations that could easilly be set up on N8N in a fraction of the time.

A great example of this is Zapier, even though they may be a different platform, i’m able to successfully and independently set up automations with no problems. It would be amazing to be able to leverage the power of N8N without relying or having to pay someone.

If you have any questions, or if there is any way I can help speed this up, or make this happen so the platform can be accessible for all, please let me know.

Thank You,
Justin
