Activation key cannot be used after migration to Docker instance

Hello n8n support team,

I recently migrated my n8n setup from a local Windows installation (Node.js) to a Docker-based installation.

After the migration, I get the following error when trying to activate my license key:

“Activation failed: Activation key has already been used on this instance”

It seems the key is still bound to my previous instance, and I am unable to activate it on the current Docker setup.

Could you please reset or rebind my activation key to my current Docker instance so I can continue using n8n?

Thank you very much for your assistance.

Best regards,
Anastasia

You can simply request for a new key. I am assuming you are using the Community Edition of n8n

bem vindo à comunidade n8n @Voobrazhenie
First, check n8n license:info and, if necessary, run n8n license:clear on the new instance; then try activating it again via the UI or using N8N_LICENSE_ACTIVATION_KEY. If the error persists, email the case to license@n8n.io, because resetting or rebinding an activation key is not something the community can do.
