We wrote up an honest comparison between n8n, Zapier and Make for small/medium businesses who are on the fence – looked at it from the angle of who has to maintain the automation after the first setup, not just how fast you can build the first workflow.

Curious to hear how others here weigh maintainability vs. build speed when picking a tool for a client project. Feedback welcome.

I think maintainability is a big thing for SMEs. Building an automation quickly is useful, but if the client can’t understand or manage it later, it can cause problems.
From what I’ve seen, the right choice depends a lot on the team. n8n can be a good fit when there’s someone technical, while Zapier or Make may be easier for teams that want something simpler. I also check AI Tool Hunt from time to time when comparing tools, which helps me get a quick overview before trying one. In the end, I’d choose based on the client’s skills and long-term needs rather than just setup speed.
