That’s probably nothing that we will include in folders for now, as credentials are by design shared across many different workflows. We do have other ideas for this area though.

I also find the lack of folders in n8n an insane oversight and find that 4 years to integrate something like this is mind boggling. This is a standard “programming” practice, so for any power user, this is a MUST have feature. I found @wh3at 's chrome add on he made was by far the simplest solution temporarily. However I found that it wasn’t reactive with n8n’s sidebar, and the more tags you had, it began to cover other elements. So I fixed that. HERE is a link to my updated version that fixes this issue. Shout out the community. Can already tell this will be a great community to work with. I have provided an example of what the updated version looks like. It is now easily scrollable, and scales with the way the site scales. I may play around with this more to make it more robust.

Are you close to releasing now? We’re almost one month later. I’m sure everyone is looking forward to this amazing update.
@jimvh yes, we’re moving very close to it. We will most likely have a first working version that we will test internally first finished at the beginning of March. Can’t wait to release it to you and hear your thoughts.

Just installed 1.81 (self hosted community version), that is supposed to have folders - but they are not here. Is there any limitations on edition? Or should i put some additional settings to enable this feature?

Reading the details of the PR, it seems like the noted feature in the changelog is just for local testing, so this is not released to public yet.
Yes, I used the FOLDERS_ENABLED=true environment variable, but it didn’t show up. Maybe it will roll out first in cloud or enterprise editions.
Folders is not released.
Please just be patient. The n8n team will let us know when it is released

Indeed. We’re currently finishing up the last phases of our MVP and will then test it shortly internally before we can make it live. We’re just as excited as you all are and will give our best to ship this as quickly as possible.

I noticed that in version 1.82, it’s stated that folder functionality would be added (see: Add functionality to create folders #13473 (2cb9d9e)). I’ve installed the update, but I don’t see this feature available. Is it not included in the community version, or am I missing something?

Hi Niklas! Almost mid March now. Any news for us? I truly believe we all need this very badly. I hope it will finally become a reality after 5 years Looking forward to an update.

Hey @jimvh, thanks for the ping. We’re on the finishing line already, but probably still need a week or two to make sure folders work correctly with our environments feature. When initially scoping the feature, we kinda forgot about that
