Best way to learn from a shared workflow

Hi all I am a beginner user in n8n , when you want to learn from a multiple step workflow shared online what is your recommended process ?

My first approach : build from scratch node by node in a blank workflow.

Second approach: import the full json and then fix any errors that appear

Please which method is better for a solid understanding I am learning with the first approach but it it seems like the second approach would be faster , I am just curious what the experienced community thinks .. would really appreciate the help

The truth is the best part depends on your personal learning style, many of us find that starting with structured courses or tutorials provides a stronger foundation than immediately deconstructing complex workflow, building that core knowledge first often makes understanding other people’s creations much smoother down the line, so it depends on which one you prefer

Ok thanks , at least I now know I am doing the right thing .. thanks a lot

You’re welcome, please feel free to ask more questions we are here to help and guide you

Hai @Suleiman_Dauda Both methods have their own advantages. Building from scratch deepens understanding, while importing workflows is faster for learning the overall structure. Many experienced users suggest a combination: start by building manually for the basics, then explore by importing more complex workflows

Hope this helps, and welcome to the n8n community!
