Casa OS apps --which one do I use

The new topic link is causing the page to stall, I have had to exit the page several times now on this site. The issue I’m having with my Zima cube is there’s two apps to install for n8n. Claude is telling me to uninstall the one on the left and install the big-bear dealio. I was hoping someone could clarify that for me…when I try the icon to to install the big bear I get an error “confirm the input content”

Describe the problem/error/question

What is the error message (if any)?

Information on your n8n setup

  • n8n version:
  • Database (default: SQLite):
  • n8n EXECUTIONS_PROCESS setting (default: own, main):
  • Running n8n via (Docker, npm, n8n cloud, desktop app):
  • Operating system:

Yeah the two-app thing is confusing at first.

Short answer: BigBear is the better one, it’s just
a community-maintained version that gets updated more
often and has better defaults for self-hosting.

The “confirm the input content” error is just CasaOS
being picky about the install form there’s probably
a timezone field sitting empty. Fill that in
(something like America/New_York) and it should go through.

If it’s still throwing errors, just grab the official one
for now to get n8n running, you can always switch later.

@Smacktalk either app works fine, the “confirm the input content” error on BigBear just means you left a field blank in the install form — scroll down and fill in every field (especially the timezone and data path ones), then hit install again. once n8n is running import this to verify everything’s working:

hit execute on that, if Set Output returns your timestamp you’re good to go.

Thank you so much for your response Vishitshta!!
