At the moment we can set a name or custom fields on a task but are unable to set the description of the task.
The description field is a standard field on ClickUp Tasks and should be added beneath the name

The API does not mention a description field. However, they mention the content field, which is what you might be looking for. Did you try the content field? it’s under additional fields when creating a task
