Disappointed with the lack of upkeep

Just started N8N101. Within the platform orientation there is already a half dozen or so incorrect statements. I’m assuming this is because the course was published a month ago…but it’s only been a month? Example is I spent a while trying to figure out where the “save button” was that is repeatedly referred to. Thats now been updated to an auto save system which is great, but the training leaves the user searching for things that don’t exists. The flow also just feels weird. Its told me about hitting 0 and 1 to recenter the screen 4 times so far and I’m barely in the course, it’s then referring to sub workflows and pinning data without even introducing those concepts. Just some feedback from a new learner that is already discouraged in trusting this as an absolute source of truth within the first module.

@jamiemadden_n8n

Some great feedback for the course. Time to get those reinforcements for your team. You will never be able to keep up with the changes made in n8n otherwise. :wink:

Thanks for your feedback. Keeping course materials up to date with the release schedule we have can be challenging. These courses were created before auto save was added. They have been in testing for several months before they were released.

We are working on creating systems to highlight release changes so that we can address that in our course materials. Unfortunately we lack the bandwidth in the education team currently to be making changes on a weekly basis to our course materials.

I’ve gone through and updated the reference to how to save. Good catch. With regards to to the other references, those are keyboard shortcut references only.

These courses were designed to be a reference you return to and not only go through and never open again.

cheers,

Thank you Jamie. If it’s helpful I can keep notes on anything else I notice that feels out of place as I complete the coursework.

Example - “press tab to open the node panel” is now “N”
