Doubts about violating N8N’s terms using N8N Self-hosted

Hello, my name is Renatho Siqueira, and I am a technology professional
in Barueri, São Paulo.

I participate in many automation communities in Brazil and follow many
influencers from other parts of the world.

However, one question still remains:

Let’s say I have a VPS server.
I install N8N on it and create an automation (workflow) for an AI
agent (chatbot) so that MY CLIENTS can serve THEIR clients. In other
words, I sell an automation that is hosted on N8N self-hosted on MY
VPS, but I run workflows for MY CLIENTS, so that THEIR CLIENTS
interact with this agent, schedule meetings, ask questions, and engage
in other “non-commercial” activities (this agent does not handle
sales).

In such a case, would I be violating N8N’s terms?
Can I run the entire infrastructure, N8N self-hosted instance, and
workflows on MY VPS and have these workflows serve a company that I
assist?

To clarify:
My VPS > My N8N > Workflow I created for my client > My client’s AI
agent > Serving MY client’s customers

Does this violate the usage rules?

If yes, what could happen if I were to accidentally do this without
knowing? I have heard reports that N8N contacts the hosting company of
the VPS and asks to take down the server hosting the N8N instance that
violates the license. Is this true?

I look forward to your response
Thank you very much. :slightly_smiling_face:

I am not confident, someone from the team may provide a more detailed (or correct) answer, but I believe its anything to do with reselling access. And in a sense, you are selling access to the bot to your clients.

No one? :frowning:

I’d try @ some of the main guys, or reach out to enterprise/resell team.
