Edit image node with N8N_DEFAULT_BINARY_DATA_MODE = filesystem - Some operations not working

Describe the issue/error/question

When I set the environment to N8N_DEFAULT_BINARY_DATA_MODE=filesystem my Edit Image node stop working for Composite operation.

If I rollback the setting to default it runs fine without any changes to my workflow.

There is no error and the node finishes successful with both settings.

Information on your n8n setup

  • n8n version: 0.175.1
  • Database: Postgres
  • Running n8n with the execution process main
  • Running n8n via Docker

Hi @lero, thanks so much for reporting this and sorry for the trouble.

I could reproduce this and have added the problem to our internal bug tracker for a fix. We’ll confirm once this has been done.
