# ERROR: Cannot find module 'crypto' in Code Node

## What is the error message (if any)?

ERROR: Cannot find module ‘crypto’ [line 1, for item 0]

## workflow

- **n8n version:** 1.7.1
- **Database (default: SQLite):**
- **n8n EXECUTIONS\_PROCESS setting (default: own, main):** own
- **Running n8n via (Docker, npm, n8n cloud, desktop app):** Docker
- **Operating system:** Ubuntu

The crypto node works everywhere else and is inbuilt into nodejs, how come its not working here?

Hye @Roney_Dsilva,

Have you set `NODE_FUNCTION_ALLOW_BUILTIN` so that n8n knows it is allowed to use it?
