Everyone I wanted to know if this is doable

Hey, quick question:
Is it possible in n8n to build a node/workflow that takes a topic (say Shukaku from Naruto) and automatically fetches 20–50 images/gifs/videos from the web, then saves them to a folder (Google Drive, local, whatever)?
Has anyone tried something like this, maybe with an API or scraping?
Thanks!

What is the error message (if any)?

I’d say it is very possible

Thank you, do you know a way to implement this? i have little to no experience with n8n

I’m fresh at it, but I use apify with my n8n workflow to find some good apis that scrape what you need.

I recently created a workflow that uses Serpapi to google things, then another api that then scrapes the data I need from that google search. Sounds like a similar problem set. I used chat gpt a lot too

Thanks a lot, I didnt know about Serpapi it’s very helpful, I did use chatgpt too lol, it’s amazing! I can see a good scraper on Apify it can be useful, thanks and good luck :folded_hands:

Hey @Rehare Download My workflow 16.json | LimeWire - this will get you started - you will need a google custom search api key and a cse ID. For your reference I generated the complete workflow with 2 prompts. If it works, just switch out the api’s for whatever service you want, I think bing has a free image search api too

:key: 1. Get a Google Custom Search API key

  1. Go to the Google Cloud Console.
  2. Make sure you’re logged into your Google account.
  3. Create a new Project (or pick an existing one).
  4. Click Enable API for Custom Search API.
  5. In the left menu, go to APIs & Services → Credentials.
  6. Click Create Credentials → API Key.
    • Copy this key → this is your GOOGLE_API_KEY.

:package: 2. Create a Custom Search Engine (CSE ID)

  1. Go to Google Programmable Search Engine.
  2. Click Add.
  3. For “Sites to search” enter: www.google.com (don’t worry, we’ll enable image search separately).
  4. Once created, go to Control Panel of your new search engine.
  5. Find your Search engine ID → this is your CSE_ID.
  6. In the Control Panel, enable:
    • Search the entire web (not just specific sites).
    • Image search → toggle ON.

No problem, happy to help. If you need assistance just ping me.

And @Rehare just to clarify, if you copy the code from the link and just paste into your workflow it will import it, no need to download the file
