Google credentials not working: Something went wrong

I am trying to setup my credentials for google ( simple, right?)

I first tried with google sheet, the only option i have ( see below) is to sign in with google, i select the account and it give me a:

Something went wrong
Sorry, something went wrong there. Try again.

There’s no other option, so not sure what to do.

Tried going on google cloud, set up my project, create my credentials, add n8n as an authorized domain, etc. And add google drive, this time i can set in the client ID and client secret (plus added the redirect URL on google cloud’s project) at least but once i try to sign in, same error.

Anyone has any idea? It’s pretty annoying getting stuck at the entrance like that. ( got X API’s working, no issue, it’s just google not working but i intended to use it to store data to start my workflows with.

why don’t you try creating new google app.
apis, which you require like sheet, drive etc. then add it in n8n.
also are you using cloud or local hosted n8n?

hi there, are you using the cloud version or the self host

Cloud Version.

Regarding the Google Sheet, there’s no option to enter a client ID or any credentials, so creating an app for it is not really useful as my only option is to sign in with google.

As mentioned in the second part of my question, I did nonetheless create a Google app and attempted to connect it to Google Drive in n8n (not Sheets, as it’s useless as shown in my screenshot). That sadly also didn’t work, giving me the same error.

I’m using n8n Cloud.
