Google review requests that know when to stop — sent 2 days after the job, one polite reminder, never more

Hi all — companion piece to my review-reply template, from the other side of the same problem: most happy customers simply never think to leave a review, and most owners feel too awkward to ask twice.

This one asks for you, with manners built in:

  • ✓ Sends the request 2 days after the job’s completion date (not while the paint is still wet)
  • ✓ Exactly one reminder, one week later — then it stops forever, whatever happens
  • ✓ Every send is stamped back to the sheet immediately, so re-runs and crashes never double-ask
  • ✓ Honest notes on the canvas about expectations (review-request emails work; they don’t work miracles) and about Google’s policies — no incentives, no review gating

What it does: you keep completed jobs in a Google Sheet (customer, email, completion date). Once a day the workflow finds who’s due — first ask at day 2, single reminder at day 9 — sends a short plain-text email with your direct review link, and records everything in the sheet. Plain text templates, no AI key needed, runs 100% free.

Curious how others time the ask — right at handoff, or after a couple of days? And does anyone A/B the reminder?
