🚀 Help Review Community Workflows –> We're Hiring a Template QA Specialist (Part-Time, Remote)

Hey folks :waving_hand:

I’m Miha and I’m responsible for reviewing all the workflow templates that come through n8n. If you’ve ever submitted one, there’s a good chance I’ve left you a comment or approved it!

We’ve seen a big uptick in awesome templates from the community (:green_heart:) and I could use some help keeping up. That’s why we’re looking for someone to jump in part-time as a Template QA Specialist - basically someone who knows their way around n8n, automation, and APIs, and can help review templates before they go live.

It’s a freelance job, fully remote, flexible hours, paid hourly. Ideal for someone who’s got a few spare hours each day and wants to contribute to the ecosystem. Here’s the full job description:

About the Role

We are looking for a Template QA Specialist to help us maintain and grow a high-quality library of community-submitted workflow templates. This role is ideal for someone technical who understands automation and APIs, enjoys giving thoughtful feedback and is passionate about making powerful workflows accessible to a wide audience.

You’ll work closely with our internal team and community contributors to ensure every published template meets n8n’s quality, clarity and security standards. You’ll also support creators in refining their submissions through constructive feedback and categorization.

This is a part-time freelance position, ideal for someone who can commit to a few hours of review work each day. It’s fully remote and paid hourly.

Key Responsibilities

:test_tube: Template Review & Evaluation

  • Assess incoming community-submitted templates for:
    • Functional accuracy and completeness
    • Clear value proposition and end-user benefit
    • Proper use of n8n features and annotations
    • Adherence to quality, style and SEO standards

:locked_with_key: Security & Best Practices

  • Identify potential security issues (e.g., use of hardcoded API keys instead of credentials)
  • Verify safe and proper implementation of authentication and sensitive data handling
  • Raise flags when workflows pose security or stability risks

:open_mailbox_with_raised_flag: Feedback & Communication

  • Reject templates that don’t meet the required standards with detailed, respectful feedback
  • Engage asynchronously with contributors to guide improvements
  • Re-review updated submissions and publish those that meet the quality bar

:card_index_dividers: Categorization & Metadata

  • Assign templates to appropriate high-level categories and subcategories (e.g., “Marketing > Content Creation”)
  • Apply consistent tagging and naming practices for discoverability and SEO
  • Flag and suggest improvements to metadata when needed

:handshake: Community Support

  • Help contributors understand how to best format and submit high-quality templates
  • Support occasional questions or issues related to updating existing templates
  • Provide insight to the internal team on common contributor pain points

What We’re Looking For

Must-Haves

  • Familiarity with n8n and its node ecosystem
  • Strong understanding of automation best practices, API workflows, and credential management
  • Comfortable reading and lightly editing JavaScript and workflow logic
  • Excellent written English—friendly, clear and constructive
  • High attention to detail and the ability to spot inconsistencies, errors or grammatical mistakes quickly
  • Experience working in a remote, asynchronous, and community-facing environment

Nice-to-Haves

  • Previous experience reviewing technical content or code
  • Prior open-source or no-code/low-code tool contributions
  • Knowledge of SEO or content metadata best practices
  • Experience categorizing content or building taxonomies

What You Get

  • :money_with_wings: Hourly compensation based on experience and contribution quality
  • :globe_showing_europe_africa: Fully remote, flexible schedule
  • :rocket: Opportunity to shape the public face of n8n through its template library
  • :handshake: Work with a passionate team that values collaboration and quality
  • :books: Access to internal learning resources and team support

Note: This role is freelance/contract-based. You must have the legal right to invoice and receive payment in your country of residence.

Hi Miha,

I came across the Template QA Specialist role at n8n and would love to apply.

I have over 10 years of experience in software development, automation, and API integrations, including hands-on use of n8n for building complex workflows. I’m confident reviewing templates for functional accuracy, security best practices, and metadata optimization. I’m also comfortable providing clear, constructive feedback and supporting a remote community.

I’ve filled out the application form, but wanted to reach out directly to express my enthusiasm. This role aligns perfectly with my background and passion for building and supporting automation ecosystems.

Looking forward to the opportunity!

Hey Miha,

I got you, I have been building all forms of automations since the past 2 years and have built 100s of flows for my clients. Have worked with all sorts of companies and gotten them 10s of thousands in revenue or savings by strategic flows.
When you decide to work with me not only will I build this flow out but also give you a free consultation like I have for all my clients that led to these revenue jumps.

I would love to create you an n8n system which will auto approve and quality check every single workflow that enters the platform. Not only that but I have a few ideas in which we can grow the platform by an automated incentivisation system with which we can grow the users on n8n. I would love to discuss my idea as a completely commission-only proposition. I would love to take 30 minutes of your time to explain the details.

Here, have a look at my website and you can book a call with me there!
