Hiring n8n automation engineer

Hi,

I’m an AI-augmented backend and automation developer based in Kraków, focused on n8n and API integrations. I use tools like Cursor and Claude to generate and refactor most of the code, then I concentrate on architecture, data flows, and making sure everything is stable in production.

Recent work:

  • Perfex CRM ↔ n8n integration: secure HMAC webhooks, DB-backed retry queue, and a small monitoring dashboard (Chart.js). This is a production module used by real clients.
  • Python-based automation agent: Playwright + external APIs + SQLite + Telegram notifications to automate repetitive online tasks.

What I can bring to your n8n setup:

  • Design and build complex multi-step workflows with proper error handling, retries, and logging.
  • Connect CRMs, e‑commerce platforms, and internal tools via REST APIs and webhooks.
  • Implement invoicing / dunning flows, notifications (email/Telegram/WhatsApp), and reporting dashboards.
  • Use Code nodes (JS/Python) where the logic is too specific for visual nodes only.

I’m available 30–40 hours/week, work fully remote and async, and I’m happy to start with a small paid task so you can see how I work.

Hi @ShaneSmitas,

I’d be a strong fit for this. I run Evara AI (IIT Bhubaneswar incubated) and build production n8n workflows daily for clients across the UK, US, and Africa.

Directly relevant experience:

  • Email + messaging integrations: Built WhatsApp Business API pipelines with Twilio, plus SMTP/SendGrid flows for automated outreach
  • Database work: PostgreSQL, Supabase, Airtable — including automated data pipelines that pull from APIs and push structured reports to Slack
  • Webhook + REST API integrations: Production workflows connecting CRMs, payment systems, calendar tools, and custom APIs
  • AI/OpenAI integrations: AI classification layers inside n8n workflows for automated decision-making
  • Error handling & monitoring: Built retry logic, dead-letter queues, and alerting into production workflows

Recent project: Automated ad spend analyzer for a UK e-commerce company — pulls data from APIs daily across 7,400+ SKUs, applies AI classification, and pushes intelligence briefs to Slack. Fully automated, zero manual intervention.

Available on contract, remote from India (flexible timezone overlap). Happy to share more examples or jump on a quick call.

Hey Shane,

I work with n8n in production daily - webhook pipelines, API integrations, Telegram bots, AI processing with Claude and OpenAI. My background is backend dev (Python, PHP/Laravel), so I write custom JavaScript in function nodes when standard nodes aren’t enough.

Self-hosted n8n on Docker is my default setup - I manage one right now with cron jobs, Grafana monitoring, and Telegram notifications.

Here are 4 production workflows I built:

They cover: AI lead processing with webhook triggers, customer support bot with ticket classification, competitive intelligence with RSS + NLP, and multi-API company research pipeline. All with error handling, logging, and Telegram delivery.

Based in Europe (CET), available immediately. Happy to share rate and availability via DM.

Hey @ShaneSmitas — n8n automation engineer available now. Complex multi-system production workflows are exactly my lane. PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, Airtable, Slack, WhatsApp integrations — all familiar. $70/hr. DM me to discuss and I’ll share portfolio.

Hi there,

I’ve reviewed your requirements, and I’m ready to take ownership of your n8n infrastructure. I don’t just build “scenarios”; I design production-grade automation systems that are fault-tolerant, documented, and easy to scale.

My Hands-on Experience with your Stack:

  • n8n & Infrastructure: Expert in self-hosting via Docker. I understand how to manage persistent storage, environment variables, and memory limits to keep workflows running 24/7.

  • Databases: While many use Airtable, I prioritize PostgreSQL and Supabase for production environments to ensure data integrity and query speed.

  • API & Auth: Deep experience with complex OAuth2 flows, custom HTTP Request nodes, and handling Paginated API responses.

  • Reliability: I implement mandatory Error Handling (Error Trigger nodes), retries, and Slack/Telegram alerting for every mission-critical workflow.

  • AI Integration: I’ve built “Content Factories” and AI-agents using OpenAI/Claude, focusing on structured JSON outputs and RAG (Vector Stores like Pinecone/ChromaDB).

Examples of Workflows I’ve Built:

  1. Lead Gen Pipeline: Syncing OpenPhone and Gmail data into GoHighLevel via n8n and PostgreSQL with duplicate detection logic.

  2. Automated Content Factory: Multi-platform system for video/article generation using AI avatars and automated posting.

  3. Intelligent Parser: A system for extracting structured data from complex PDFs (server equipment specs) and converting it into clean JSON objects via OCR pipelines.

Availability & Rate:

  • Availability: I am available to start immediately and can dedicate hours per week to your projects.

  • Rate: My standard rate is $/hour, but I am open to fixed-price project milestones if the scope is clearly defined.

Hi,

I am interested in this n8n automation role.

My strongest fit is building practical automation systems that connect APIs, databases, WhatsApp-style messaging, CRM logic, AI steps, error handling and documentation. I also work with JavaScript/Python logic when the standard nodes are not enough.

Relevant workflow experience I can bring:

  • multi-step lead intake and qualification workflows
  • WhatsApp/customer support automation logic
  • CRM-style updates, follow-ups and escalation paths
  • REST API and webhook integrations
  • structured data validation, deduplication and logging
  • AI classification and response routing with controlled prompts

For production workflows, I would prioritize readable structure, retries, clear error branches and simple documentation so the system does not depend on one person to understand it.

I am based in Spain, available for remote async work, and my availability/rate can be discussed based on the exact scope and expected workload.

Hey Shane

I`ve read through your requirements and you know what these are things im really good at. I will not ask you to believe me but i will surely ask you to spare a minute or two and go through my portfolio and I assure you you will get the exact same things youre looking for!

Awaiting your response!

Hi Shane,

For production n8n maintenance, I would not start by claiming broad availability across every system. I would prove the maintenance pattern on one workflow family first.

First proof:

one failing or fragile workflow family → error/retry taxonomy → replay test → monitoring/runbook patch

That tests the work you called out: debugging live workflows, auth/API behavior, retries, basic monitoring, and documentation that is useful after the fix.

I work async and fixed-scope. If that fits, send one current workflow export or failure screenshot, the systems involved, and the expected success path. I can scope a first maintenance sprint in writing. I would avoid WhatsApp/live external messaging claims unless the consent and tooling boundary is already documented.

I can also show a small public proof shape for the artifact format before you send anything sensitive.

Hi @ShaneSmitas,

This scope is right in my lane. I build production n8n workflows for a living, not tutorials or one-off demos. My background is in manufacturing operations so I come at automation from a reliability standpoint: if it breaks at 2am it costs real money, so I build with error handling, retries, and dead-letter alerting from the start.

On your specific requirements:

Email integrations (Gmail, Outlook, SendGrid, Brevo) and PostgreSQL/MySQL/Airtable/Supabase are day-to-day for me. I have live workflows hitting all of these.

Webhooks and REST APIs with OAuth2 and API key handling are core to everything I build. I know where n8n’s credential manager saves you and where it bites you.

Slack and WhatsApp via Twilio are integrated in production flows I currently maintain.

Self-hosted n8n on Docker/VPS is my default setup. I run it that way myself and have deployed it for clients.

OpenAI integrations are in several workflows I have running now.

I work independently, document clearly, and hand off so the next person is not lost.

One question before I send a full proposal: are you looking for an ongoing retainer for maintenance and new builds, a project-based engagement, or both?

Hi,

I tick every box here — production n8n workflows are my full-time work.

Live systems I maintain:

  • Meta DM chatbot: n8n + WhatsApp Business API + Facebook Graph API handling real customer conversations
  • Telegram→Zoho Invoice pipeline: n8n + PostgreSQL, running unattended for field service reps daily
  • AI video content pipeline: n8n + HeyGen + Claude + Meta auto-post
  • 31-agent BI system: n8n + Claude API, multi-entity data across a Caribbean business portfolio

On your requirements:

  • Email: SMTP, Gmail, SendGrid — used in production (Azure Communication Services too)
  • Databases: PostgreSQL primary, Airtable for structured outputs, Supabase
  • Messaging: WhatsApp Business API and Telegram — both live
  • Webhooks + REST APIs: daily use across CRM, ERP, and third-party integrations
  • Error handling, retries, monitoring: standard in everything I build
  • Documentation: plain-English workflow docs for every system

I work remotely from South Africa (UTC+2), take full ownership, and don’t need hand-holding.

Hi Shane — I’m available for smaller production n8n workflow slices and maintenance/QA work.

I can help with Gmail/Sheets/Slack/WhatsApp-style handoffs, REST API payload mapping, error paths, retries, and plain-English workflow documentation. A good first test could be one existing workflow audit or one contained integration slice with logs and handoff notes.

Hi Shane — I can help with this.

I build production n8n automation systems — not demos, not experiments. The emphasis on “real production workflows” resonates: every workflow I ship has error handling, retry logic, alerting on failure, and logging for auditability.

Directly relevant to your stack:

- **Email services**: Integrated transactional email via SMTP, Azure Communication Services (REST API via n8n HTTP Request node), and WhatsApp Business API — all with queue/retry patterns for delivery reliability.

- **Advanced workflows**: Built multi-branch n8n flows handling lead qualification (Apollo + LinkedIn), invoice generation (Telegram → Zoho), and AI content pipelines (Claude + HeyGen + Meta Graph API), all running unattended in production.

- **Maintenance and improvement**: I treat workflow maintenance as part of the work — version-controlled JSON exports, canary deploys on self-hosted instances, checkpoint tables in Postgres for long-running processes.

I’m available immediately, work UTC+2 (South Africa), and can start on a small test task to establish trust before committing to the full scope.

DM me or share more detail and I’ll follow up fast.

Hi. This matches the kind of production automation work I do: REST APIs, webhooks, auth, data mapping, retries, error logs, and CRM/database integrations.

I would suggest starting with one paid workflow slice, for example Slack/WhatsApp + database + failure handling, then expanding once the reliability pattern is proven.

I work async-first and can keep the handoff practical: workflow notes, test cases, and clear failure paths.
