Hiring: Sales Tech & Automation Specialist (Ongoing Remote Work, CRM + Databases)

Ongoing sales-tech maintenance is my day job, just for my own company: I run the CRM, pipelines and automations that our revenue depends on.

Debugging broken automations is my strongest skill, and I do not just fix. I find the root cause and add monitoring so the same failure cannot happen silently again. That habit came from losing leads to a silent failure once; never again since.

Tools: APIs and webhooks daily, PostgreSQL/SQL comfortable, solid JS, CRM logic from building my own booking/CRM system, Make plus custom serverless functions. n8n concepts map directly. European timezone, evening overlap with US hours works.

I can commit 15 to 25 reliable hours per week as an ongoing retainer. What is your monthly budget range? Then I can tell you straight away whether it fits. DM open.

I am interested in proving fit on one paid debugging task rather than claiming experience with every tool in your stack. I build stateful AI applications in JavaScript/TypeScript with API boundaries, Telegram, local/hosted model routes, SQLite state and documented QA; I have also executed two isolated n8n acceptance workflows covering validation, duplicate safety, blocked states and PDF output. I have not delivered a production Close CRM project. A useful first milestone is one sanitized failing workflow for $100: reproduce the failure, map its input/output contract, fix the owning cause, add one regression case, and return the corrected JSON plus a short runbook. I can overlap with European hours and work asynchronously in English. If you have a current non-production failure, send the redacted workflow and expected result.

Debugging other people’s broken automations is most of what I do, so here is how I approach the two items at the top of your list.

Broken automations: the recurring root cause in sales stacks is not the logic, it is the retry behaviour. A CRM webhook fires twice, the workflow has no dedup key, and you end up with duplicated deals or a lead assigned to two reps. First thing I add to any flow I inherit is an idempotency key on the event id plus a small state store outside the workflow, so a restart or a replay cannot corrupt the pipeline.

The second recurring one: an HTTP node in n8n runs once per item by default. On a CRM sync that quietly becomes hundreds of identical calls, which looks like a rate limit problem and gets misdiagnosed as the API being flaky. Executing once and paging deliberately fixes it.

Maintenance: I always add a watchdog workflow that checks the last successful run of each critical flow and alerts a human if it did not happen. Silent failure in a sales pipeline is worse than a loud one, because nobody notices until a week of leads is missing.

I run automations in production today with retries, watchdogs and daily reports that people depend on, and I work with Close-style CRMs, Airtable, SQL and JS code steps.

One question so I can be useful straight away: when something breaks today, how do you find out, does someone notice a missing lead or do you have alerting?

Hi, I’m Ezzeldeen, a self-taught automation builder (n8n, Make, Supabase/Postgres, API/webhook integration, AI agents via OpenAI/Google AI Studio). Your post’s ask, debugging and maintaining CRM/automation workflows across n8n, Airtable, and webhooks, matches my hands-on practice closely. I don’t have direct experience with Close CRM or ClickFunnels specifically, but I pick up new tools fast and I’m comfortable writing JS for custom code steps. Happy to share real workflow examples. is this still open?

Hi Nicolas,

I’ll submit the Airtable form as well.

I’m not trying to be a junior Zapier firefighter. The work you listed (broken automations, CRM fields drifting, leads disappearing until someone notices) is what I spend a lot of time on. First couple of weeks would be an inventory of Close and the n8n/Make flows, fix the ones that drop leads, and put alerts on them that someone can actually act on.

I’m in South Africa, UTC+2, so overlap with EU hours is straightforward. Ongoing remote is fine. If you’d rather a senior contractor than an employee, that’s easier on my side.

Nicolas — a low-risk way to evaluate fit is one paid diagnostic on the failure boundary your team will encounter repeatedly: a CRM status change passing through n8n into Airtable or SQL. Partial success plus an automatic retry can otherwise create duplicate activities, stale pipeline stages, or conflicting field ownership.

FlowPatch can validate one such boundary for $49, paid only after delivery. Within two business days I deliver:

  • a failure/recovery matrix;
  • field ownership and state-transition rules;
  • timeout, retry, idempotency, and reconciliation rules;
  • a prioritized patch plan;
  • executable synthetic tests for delayed, failed, and duplicated events.

If the written scope is missed, the price is $0. The $49 is credited toward a later $299 implementation.

Hi Nicolas — this is close to my strongest work: debugging backend/integration systems where API/webhook handoffs, data mapping, retries, and state can quietly fail.

My verified background is Node.js/TypeScript, Python, REST/webhooks, SQL/Redis, Docker/CI/CD, and production reliability. I haven’t delivered a production Close CRM engagement, so I won’t claim that; the part I can prove is tracing API/data-flow failures, fixing the owning cause, and leaving logging/tests so the same failure is visible next time.

If you’re still screening, I’d be comfortable starting with one bounded paid diagnostic/repair: one redacted broken CRM/automation handoff, reproduce and trace the failure, implement the smallest safe fix, add retry/idempotency/logging where appropriate, one regression case, and concise handoff notes. Public proof: https://fored.id/ .

If the Airtable form is still the required application path, I’m happy to use it once you confirm the role is still open.

Yehor Rodionov

Nico, the thing that decides whether a stack like this stays maintainable is that the CRM is the source of truth and n8n is the only thing allowed to write to it.

Two things rot these setups. First, duplicates: Typeform fires on submit, ClickFunnels fires again, Calendly fires on booking, and the same person lands in Close three times under two ids. A dedupe key on email plus form id, written to Airtable before anything reaches the CRM, makes a replayed webhook a no-op instead of a second contact.

Second, silent failure. Most Make and Zapier estates break quietly for days and you hear about it from a client. Every workflow gets an error branch that posts the failing item and the run id into Slack, so a broken automation is a message, not a complaint.

I am a full-stack and AI engineer in Bengaluru, Node/TypeScript and Postgres daily, n8n and LLM agents in production. Good overlap with both Europe and the US day. Happy to start on one broken flow and document it so you can judge the work before anything ongoing.

Hi Nicolas, this role caught my attention because my background combines sales operations with hands-on technical automation.

I have many years of experience building and managing sales processes, so I understand CRM pipelines, lead handling, statuses, follow-ups and the operational problems behind the automation — not only the technical workflow itself.

On the technical side, I work with Python, APIs/webhooks, SQL/data processing, Linux deployment, debugging, monitoring and automation. I’ve built a production-oriented system integrating multiple external APIs with asynchronous processing, validation, health monitoring, automated tests and failure handling.

I’m now also working with n8n as an orchestration layer and I’m comfortable learning a specific CRM/tool stack quickly.

What particularly fits me here is the combination of troubleshooting existing systems and improving the underlying process rather than just building isolated automations.

I’m interested in ongoing remote collaboration and would be happy to start with a practical task.

Hi Nico,

Your role caught my attention because it sits right at the intersection of my two backgrounds: sales operations and technical automation.

I have 12+ years of experience in B2B sales and business processes, so I understand CRM pipelines, lead workflows, statuses, reporting, and the operational problems behind them — not just the technical layer.

On the technical side, I work with Python, APIs/webhooks, SQL, Linux/VPS environments, automation and data-processing systems. I’m comfortable debugging workflows step by step, integrating services through APIs, and building reliable processes rather than one-off scripts.

One relevant project is my public data collector:

It includes async Python, API integrations, automated testing/CI, monitoring and validation, and production-oriented data processing.

I’m currently expanding my hands-on work with n8n and would be interested in growing into the broader technical ownership you described. I’m also comfortable with ongoing remote collaboration and European working hours.

Best,
Alexey

Hi Nicolas — interested in the ongoing Sales Tech / CRM / automation work. Full-stack background (10+ years) with APIs, CRM integrations, and workflow automation. EU-friendly hours from Pakistan. Can DM a resume if you’d like.

Nicolas — systems builder for sales stacks (n8n/Make/Zapier + CRM APIs), not a closer. I keep lead routing and CRM sync reliable — same as Lead Desk (AI score → HubSpot → Discord → Resend). Happy to start with one broken automation as a paid trial, then ongoing. IST with EU-morning overlap.

hi Nicolas, you wrote the role is mostly debugging broken automations. last time one ran green but did nothing, who ended up fixing it?

Hi Nicolas,

This looks very close to the kind of systems I work on — CRM/revenue automation, n8n workflows, APIs/webhooks, data handling, and debugging unreliable automations.

I’d be happy to start with a small paid trial. I’m especially comfortable tracing failures across workflow logic, external APIs, CRM/database updates, and edge cases rather than just patching one node and moving on.

If the role is still open, I can send a relevant n8n project and a short summary of how I’d approach the trial.

Hi Nico –

Saw you’re hiring ongoing Sales Tech & Automation because the sales agency stack (Close + n8n/Make) keeps needing debug and rebuild while you scale.

Before you wait on a hire: NewVen runs a 14-day client-ops sprint — we take ownership of one slice (CRM hygiene or lead follow-up), run it daily, and hand back a cleaned pipeline + scoreboard. You’re buying results and hours, not another tool.

$4,900 fixed (50% to start). If it’s clean, $3,900/mo keeps up to two workflows.

If “something breaks every week while reps wait” is still the pain, worth a short fit call. If the hire is already locked, ignore.

Hi Nico,

I’m interested in the ongoing remote Sales Tech & Automation Specialist role. I bring practical experience with TypeScript/React, Node.js, API integrations and automated testing with Playwright, and I enjoy debugging and improving workflow-driven systems. I can support CRM/database integrations and structured automation work, and I’m available remotely with evening overlap when useful.

My current CV transparently shows periods without continuous project engagement; I’m happy to discuss those openly. Best regards, Drilon Miftari

Hi Nico, this sounds like a great fit for what I do (n8n/Make, Airtable/SQL, HubSpot). I’d love to connect and learn more about the role, feel free to DM me or share the best way to reach you.

Hi Nicolas, are you still looking for support?

I’m based in Germany and available remotely for 20–30 hours per month. I work on data integration and internal B2B tools as a technical Product Owner, coordinating implementation and testing the results. My n8n experience so far is mainly from a personal demo project.

Would a small, clearly scoped integration or maintenance task fit your needs? Could you also share the agency’s name?

Best,
Aleksandr

Hi, I am interested in the Sales Tech & Automation Specialist role.

I have hands-on experience building and troubleshooting business automation systems using n8n, APIs, webhooks, AI/LLM integrations, Google Sheets, databases and other business tools. I’ve built 20+ practical workflows focused on solving real operational and business problems.

Some relevant projects I’ve worked on include:

• CRM lead scoring and qualification automation
• Real-estate lead/WhatsApp automation using Twilio, Gemini and Google Sheets
• AI-powered customer communication workflows
• Lead capture and data processing automations
• Automated notifications and alert systems using webhooks and APIs
• CV screening and structured candidate-data workflows
• HR onboarding and employee process automation

I enjoy the troubleshooting side of automation. When something breaks, I prefer to trace the workflow step by step, inspect the data and API responses, identify where the issue is occurring, fix it, and test the workflow properly rather than just applying a temporary workaround.

I am comfortable working with JSON, webhooks, APIs, conditional logic, AI agents and code/API-based integrations. While I may not have hands-on experience with every tool in your stack, I’m comfortable learning new platforms quickly and understanding how they connect within a larger system.

I am based in Nigeria (WAT, UTC+1) and can provide overlap with European working hours. I am also specifically looking for an ongoing opportunity where I can grow with the team and take on more technical responsibility over time.
