How to migrate to self hosted

I’m currently using n8n Cloud, but I’m planning to migrate to a self-hosted setup. I already have a Pro account.

I have a few questions:

  1. Can I use the same n8n account for both Cloud and self-hosted?

  2. If I move to self-hosted, can I stop paying for the Pro plan?

  3. Is there a step-by-step guide or best practice to migrate from Cloud to self-hosted?

  4. I’m considering using Hostinger for hosting — is it any good? Any recommendations?

  5. After the migration, can I simply copy/paste the workflows and credentials, or is there a better way to move everything?

  6. How does the plans for n8n work in the self hoted option? I will need to pay for the plan in addition to my server?

Thanks!

Yes, you can use the same n8n account for Cloud and self-hosted. If you move fully to self-hosted, you can cancel the Pro plan. n8n has official guides for migrating, and exporting/importing workflows is the best approach. Hostinger can work, but performance depends on your setup. For self-hosted, you only pay for the server unless you choose an optional n8n plan.
