How to save respone of API in Simple Vector Store

I am buling a chatbot for a e-commerce shop which helps the customer to find products for his/her needs. For this I am queering our product data souce via REST /Header auth, “GET” Operation to get all products and data which are available.

For each chat, n8n queries again the endpoint to get all products (prices, description, URLs to pictures…). I was wondering, if the response can be saved in a vector database to make the chat faster, and a executed once per day, to update the available products?

I did not find anything on the topic so far, therefore I was seeking help in the forum. Thanks.

Information on your n8n setup

  • **n8n version: 1.99.1
  • **Database SQLite
  • n8n EXECUTIONS_PROCESS setting (default: own, main):
  • **Running n8n via Docker
  • **Operating system:

Technically yes.

If you ever used Vector Database before. Sure you can create another workflow

It should :

  1. Get the products via API.
  2. Clean the Vector Database first.
  3. Store all products information into the Vector Database.

And asking chatbot to find the vector database as first priority. If it can not find the product there then use the API to get product as a safe solution.

Sure, thats completely doable

You just have to get the data, and feed it into vector store like pinecone or supabase using an embedding model ( like gemini embeddings )

Try searching for RAG n8n on YouTube, it’s simple
