We are a reseller using n8n.cloud and we’d love to offer additional value to my clients by developing custom nodes tailored to their specific needs. However, we want these nodes to be private, not available to the wider community, but still usable within their own cloud environments on n8n.cloud.
From what we’ve found, it seems like custom nodes are only supported in self-hosted instances — is that correct?
Is there any way to import and use custom nodes in n8n.cloud accounts without publishing them to the public community?
And more importantly: Is this feature on the roadmap?
It would be incredibly helpful for agencies, resellers and advanced users.
Hi,
You are correct. Currently, the ability to develop and install custom nodes is exclusive to self-hosted n8n instances . And for now , there is no option to use custom nodes in n8n.cloud without publishing them to the public community. Even if you submitted , you cannot use any of the public custom nodes on n8n cloud because of it’s security and privacy concerns. You can either create a Wrapper Workflow or use a Self-Hosted Instance for your clients. Is this feature on the roadmap?
Only @n8n_Team can answer this
Yes please, because also it is not allow use a self-hosted instance to hosted all our customer where we could add our custom nodes or Wrapper workflows.
