# Make MCP Server Compatible with ChatGPT MCP / Connectors \[GOT CREATED\]

## The idea is:

Currently, as of the latest 1.99.0 n8n release, MCP Server Triggers are not compatible with ChatGPT MCP / Connectors. The message shown when adding a n8n mcp server is:

This MCP server doesn’t implement [our specification](https://platform.openai.com/docs/mcp)

## My use case:

Adding N8N created MCP Servers to ChatGPT or publishing them for the billions of ChatGPT users.

## I think it would be beneficial to add this because:

N8N created MCP servers will be easily available to the enormous ChatGPT customer base.  
Company’s using n8n would be able to use their MCP servers in ChatGPT.

## Are you willing to work on this?

Happy to test and troubleshoot.

The problem is that your MCP trigger should have two mandatory tools for ChatGPT.  
The first one is Search, and the second one is Fetch.

Search should have a query input.

Fetch should have “id“parameter.

Good news — the MCP Server Trigger node was added in [n8n v1.88.0](https://github.com/n8n-io/n8n/releases/tag/n8n%401.88.0) via [#14403](https://github.com/n8n-io/n8n/pull/14403), making n8n compatible with MCP-aware clients including ChatGPT Connectors. Closing as completed.
