Marking of wokflow items with mouse not possible

Describe the problem/error/question

I have upgraded n8n to 1.16.0 and changed to npm version. Now it’s not possible any more to drag the mouse and mark several workflow items in one step. I can only mark them one by one by holding ctrl button.

What is the error message (if any)?

Information on your n8n setup

  • n8n version: 1.16.0
  • Database (default: SQLite): default
  • n8n EXECUTIONS_PROCESS setting (default: own, main): default
  • Running n8n via (Docker, npm, n8n cloud, desktop app): npm
  • Operating system: Windows 11 Pro

Hey @pghahrem,

That has been working in my instance on 1.16.0 for a while and I can’t think of why swapping to npm would cause that although we do recommend the docker based approach.

Which browser are you are using and are you using a touch enabled device?

Hi @Jon ,
I have the same issue with Chrome and Edge. I am not using a touch device.

Hey @pghahrem,

Interesting, Does the same issue happen if you use private browsing mode as well? Out of interest what machine are you accessing n8n from is it a laptop or desktop?

The same happens in private mode on laptop and on desktop.

Hey @pghahrem,

Are there any errors in the browsers developer console?

No, just nothing happens. Usually when you click and hold the mouse there is a frame opening. Now nothing happens.

I would have expected some kind of error in the browser console  when you were using your laptop was it with an external screen, Could you also share what model the laptop was? When you access n8n are you connecting to localhost or using a domain and going through a reverse proxy?

Hi @Jon , I checked again and in private mode it was ok. So I cleared the cache and it is working now. So problem solved. Thanks alot for your help.

Hey @pghahrem,

That is good to hear, We went out shopping last night and I ended up quickly using a demo laptop at a local shop to see if I could reproduce it on my setup of n8n and it was working so I was pretty much out of ideas

Sorry for the inconvenience. Don’t know what I did wrong in the first trial. I appreciate your work, The n8n support is really great!
