Missing “Active / Inactive” toggle in workflow editor

I’m experiencing an issue in n8n where the Active / Inactive toggle is missing for one of my workflows.

Details:

  • The workflow opens in the editor, but the activation toggle does not appear.

  • The workflow is not active and cannot be enabled.

  • I have verified that this is not the execution view.

  • The issue persists after a hard reload and re-login.

Could you please clarify under which conditions the activation toggle is hidden, and help me determine why it is not visible for this workflow?

If you’re running a cloud instance or recently upgraded to version 2. the Active toggle has been replaced with a Publish button. You now need to publish your workflows to “Activate” them. If this is not the case, can you share a screenshot and which version of n8n you’re using?
