N8n cloud update

I am currently having an issue on cloud it says that the version I am running is 5 updates behind but I can not update the version when I click on update it prompts me to login and then redirects me to workflow page

Hello biskota, maybe i can try to help answer. The “5 updates behind” message on n8n Cloud can be misleading. With cloud, you dont update your own instance, the n8n team rolls out the updates automatically. When you click update, and then login, are redirected to workflows, it’s basically the system saying, “Nope, you can’t self-update here.” It’s more of a UI quirk than a real issue.

Maybe here are some things you can try:

  • Ignore the banner for now, this make your workspace will get upgraded in the normal cloud rollout cycle.
  • If you really need the feature from the latest version for now, the quickest move is to ping cloud support, and try to ask if they can fast track your update.

So.. overall nothing is broken on your side, its just how cloud handles updates.
