N8n Cloud: User Can’t Access Shared Project Despite Invite & Existing Account

Describe the problem/error/question

We’re trying to add a team member ([email protected]) to a shared project in n8n Cloud (AF Advisors). He initially had ownership, but due to execution issues we temporarily reverted it. Now we’re trying to re-invite him, but the platform behaves as if his account is in a broken or partial state.

Key symptoms:

  • He receives invite emails, but when clicking the link, he’s asked to “set up an account”, despite already having one.
  • Logging in shows no shared projects.
  • Invite links either hang or result in “setup new account” prompts.
  • Password reset emails never arrive, even though spam filters have been checked.
  • We suspect a duplicate/ghost account conflict.

We’ve tried removing and re-inviting him, sharing the direct invite link manually, and testing from multiple browsers and devices. Still, he can’t access the project.

He has active credits on this email, so starting a new account isn’t an option.

What is the error message (if any)?

No explicit error message, but login hangs, and invite links lead to an account setup loop. Password reset doesn’t work.
