here are a few ideas that came to mind for enhancing n8n’s AI and enterprise capabilities:
-
Prompt Versioning directly within AI Nodes: It could be incredibly useful to have a feature for versioning prompts directly inside the AI/LLM nodes. Imagine being able to save multiple versions of a prompt and easily switch between them with a dropdown menu. Each version could also have a small notes field to comment on changes or test results. This would make the iterative process of prompt engineering much more traceable and would allow for quick A/B testing without having to duplicate entire nodes.
-
Expanding on Workflow Governance: I recently saw a live demo of IBM’s Watsonx, and its governance features left a strong impression. It was highlighted how crucial these capabilities are for enterprise adoption, as companies place great value on control and transparency. Introducing more advanced governance features in n8n could be a powerful move. Functions like a Visual Workflow Diff to easily spot changes, Approval Workflows for deploying critical updates, or more Granular Access Controls would likely be very compelling for larger teams and corporate users.
