N8N won't start after downgrading version (resetPasswordToken does not exist)

Hello !

Describe the issue/error/question

I’m running n8n on:

  • self-hosted mode on aws with Fargate (docker)
  • using RDS Postgres and EFS for storing n8n data.
  • version is 0.237.0

Tried upgrading version to 1.9.3, it failed due to a migration error, now after downgrading back to 0.237.0 the application won’t restart.

What is the error message (if any)?

QueryFailedError: column AuthIdentity__AuthIdentity_user.resetPasswordToken does not exist

Would someone have a clue on how to resolve this without losing any data ?

Hey @jc38,

There may have been a one way migration during that upgrade so the best option would be to try 1.9.3 again and working through the migration error whatever that might have been.

Not sure why but after re-trying with 1.9.3, it’s working, without touching anything.

That is the kind of issue I like :slight_smile: Keep an eye on it and let us know if something goes wrong. We also marked 1.11.1 as latest earlier this morning so it could be worth using that version as well.
