Nation Builder is a large, enterprise-y CRM that’s been used by many electoral campaigns at state and presidential level in the US and by many political parties around the world, as well as many NGOs and community organisations.
Zapier has a fairly well-built suite of nodes and triggers for it and its API documentation is decent.
I’d probably start simple with Create/Update Person.
