New fonts. New vibes. Same automation magic

Hey everyone!

As you must have noticed we changed the design of our website today. When testing the old design on (potential) users we often got the feedback that it made us look very friendly, but also a bit toy-like. After lots of testing we decided on a more technology-focused design.

Also, dark mode. Do I need to say more?

This is just the first step in a process - not all our sites have been updated, so you may need to occasionally bring out your sunglasses again. We’ll slowly but surely get everything migrated to the new visual identity though. Feature-wise, nothing has changed.

What do you think? We’re welcoming your feedback and bug reports in the replies!

Looks cool but not sure it matches the brand (at least, the brand that I perceive). The friendly (toy-like) aspect has connotations of simple and easy to use. Dark mode might appeal to developers, but is that your target audience, or less-technical people who want to build automations?

Also the dark mode doesn’t match what you get on the inside (white interface).

Light colours make something feel light and easy. Dark colours make something feel heavy (difficult). So I’m not convinced you’re going to get the outcome you had hoped for. Sorry

Congratualtions, @bartv !
Your new design is so cool.
Every single UI components are unique.
I really appreciate your effort.
But I think the UI of our website doesn’t match with the logo of our friend.
Usually, the logo of n8n recalls me “Clean” and “Modern”.
But the new design looks too flashy, I think.
Anyways, I appreciate every effects.
Looking forward to the best looking community website.
Thank you.

I tend to agree with @James_Pardoe . Is there a way to manually switch themes in order to compare?

What brought you the nice Round B and all the traction is the previous theme but mostly the product’s quality. Keep this in mind

(I saw a few cases of investors stepping in and commenting on colors then ask for a brand change - it doesn’t always ends well…)

The new homepage looks great, but IMO I do agree that the “dark mode” doesn’t match the n8n clean/functional/enterprise values and goes more into the realm of
“AI vibe coding / crypto” aesthetics.

I’m having trouble switching back to light mode in this platform. There’s an option to select dark mode but switching it off just changes the logo back to red.

Nicely done. Dark mode has a higher contrast now. Good move guys!

Loved the new design

If you have AB tested this against the old website and have collected data that proves this is a better design to attract new customers, then awesome!

But if the decision was based on opinions… Then let’s hope luck is on your side.

I love it!

Oh no, we’re a very data-driven company and did a lot of testing on this design

Perfect :muscle::rocket:
Excited for you guys!

I am not a fan of Apple style shades, overanimated websites. It’s beautiful but not functional. I’m sorry to say this, but now look more toy-like than before.

Homepage, ok. It could be. I don’t remember the exact page, but… Do you like shades behind trasparent data tables?

Yep, I agree with all if that (@james_pardoe). I am glad the docs are stil in white. I really like reading them. They feel easy on the eye and they are easy to engage with.

This new branding feels all hectic and busy. I don’t like it. It’s not how I perceive n8n at all.

The gradients and the lightening strike. Eeew. If you want to go dark mode, then Supabase is good example. Cool, understated. Lots of space. Nice layout. Subtle.

This feels cheap. Sorry.

Please don’t change the actual app. It’s currently really nice to work with (self -hosted).

As someone that perpetually uses n8n in Darkmode, I love the new site design. It is in line with where a lot of AI companies have positioned their look/feel so you will be able to continue marketing towards those individuals.

@bartv Apart from the main site’s identity, for Docs and for this forum, the light mode is better and much more readable.
Can you revert to white in this community forum?
