New plan, no active workflow limits: introducing n8n new pricing

I Must be missing something, because all I see on the business plan pricing (self host) is unlimited steps per workflow, not unlimited workflows.

One of the main advantages of N8N the way I see it is the self hosting. Running only 40K workflows, even with unlimited steps for 800$ is a huge spend. And as others showed here in this thread, some are using millions of flows.

I am not there yet, but running 500K flows will be 5,245$/month, makes no sense. Might as well build code automation once and use it with a VPS/server that will cost a lot less.

As pointed out, with self-host we already pay for CPU and other resources, so what is the point?

Like others, this is not a complain, but just makes no sense financially speaking, self-hosting this way.

It’s actually listed on the /pricing page but I admit it’s not super easy to find.

First, scroll down to this section and set the switch to self-hosted.

Then scroll down to the Workflow execution section:

I was talking about executions number, not number of active flows. You can have 10 active flows that will be executed 100,000 times. Active flows are irrelevant in my opinion.

Ah sorry. That is correct - the self-hosted business plan does not have unlimited workflows executions.

Still can not comprehend how the Business self-hosted license allows you only specific execution instead of unlimited. It is self-hosted, you run n8n on your own instances and pay electricity and resources on your own infrastructure.

Just like someone above in the comments said. We have money to spend on your product but now we choose to give you 0, zero, because otherwise the bills for the executions we have on our own infrastructure we will bankrupt us.

There are businesses that use n8n like ours that we do things like monitoring systems, getting data from API endpoints and inform other internal systems and the monthly executions are astronomically. If we choose a pricing plan the bill will be $100k+ at least per month for things that do not involve customers, just basic internal business workflows.

This is not justifiable.

At least for Business self-hosted plans please consider some better approach. It is self-hosted, it does not run on the cloud on your resources. Find a way to charge for other things.

Thank for the great software you provide, I love it, but to be fully transparent, I’m not sure I understand the huge pricing gap there is between your 100% free community edition and your next self-hosting offer, which is 667 euros per month. I’m pretty sure we must be quite a lof out there using a self-hosted community edition and willing to pay for extra features (or simply to help), but who cannot / don’t want to go on the cloud.

If there was a Pro self-hosted offer, I would go for it. But 667 euros are far beyond what my small company can afford.

Hi,
Can you please clarify what < 100 employees “needing collaboration and scale” means when it comes to the Business Plan (self-hosted) license?

Our company has well over 100 employees, but the number of developers that will use n8n is less than 10.

Can we purchase the Business Plan or do we need to go with the Enterprise license?

Thank you

@dacio.sosa Hi Dacio! The note on our pricing page referring to “< 100 employees needing collaboration and scale” is meant as a general guideline to help teams orient themselves.

The Enterprise Plan is designed for organizations that require additional capabilities such as advanced security, collaboration and scaling features (RBAC, multi-main instances, etc).

If you’d like to confirm which plan best matches your setup and requirements, our sales team would be happy to discuss your use case and advise. You can reach them via this form.

Good news, I have a question.

Yes?
