No network connection on Workflow page (n8n Cloud)

Hi everyone,

I’m using n8n Cloud and recently ran into an issue where the Workflow editor shows:
“You have a connection issue or the server is down.”

The editor loads, but the connection drops when executing or refreshing

Tried multiple browsers, incognito mode, and a different machine (Mac → PC)

VPN disabled

Issue persisted across sessions, then later resolved

This appeared to be a websocket / connectivity issue rather than a workflow or Code node problem.

Sharing in case others run into something similar, switching networks and logging in from a fresh session helped stabilize things.

I’ve seen this happen a few times on n8n cloud, maybe there are several suggestion you can try:

  • You can try to switching to a different network (or hotspot)
  • Logging out and logging back in / fresh session
  • Hard refresh / clear site data for n8n Cloud

If its come back, its worth checking if your network block long-lived websocket connections (some corporate WIFI/ISPs do). Also a quick note to n8n support with the timestamp can help them correlate it with cloud status.
