OVH - Debian, Ubuntu, Fedora, Centos, AlmaLinux, RockyLinux?

Hi Community,

I did a successful evaluation of n8n on my Windows 11 machine. It’s a great solution !

I will continue the evaluation on an entry-level VPS (OVHCloud, I’m a customer already)
Configuration is 1 vCore, 2 Go, 20 Go SSD SATA, throughout 100 Mbit/s, Image Ubuntu 24.04.

I have the option to use Debian, Ubuntu, Fedora, Centos, AlmaLinux, RockyLinux. Which flavor do you recommend based on the fact that I would like to install n8n via npm ?

Glad you tried n8n on your Windows Machine. It’s good to explore before setting up a new instance.

My personal preference would be Ubuntu or Debian (if available) because it has lot more resources/article you can lookup. Also it’s beginner friendly.

I’m not sure about your expertise with command line tools. Also, please note that, whatever distro you choose you’ll get only command line interface.

If you stuck at some point. Feel free to create a new thread with your issue.
