# Password lost

## Describe the problem/error/question

I have an experimental n8n installation um my windows 10 and i lost the password.  
I have 2 schemas that i need to recover.  
What can i do?  
Can e recover the password on the CMD?  
Can I pass some file to a new inslatation on other computer?

Tanks for the help

## Information on your n8n setup

- **n8n version:** don’t know how do find this
- **Database (default: SQLite):** don’t know how do find this
- **n8n EXECUTIONS\_PROCESS setting (default: own, main):**
- **Running n8n via (Docker, npm, n8n cloud, desktop app):** npm
- **Operating system:** win 10

Hey @CTD,

Welcome to the community 🙌

You can use a [CLI option](https://docs.n8n.io/hosting/cli-commands/#user-management) to reset the user management feature or you can set up the SMTP environment options then reset the password that way.
