Hi everyone,
As my n8n project grows, I’ve noticed that many workflows share the same logic, such as authentication, error handling, data validation, and sending notifications.
Right now, I find myself copying the same nodes into multiple workflows, which makes maintenance harder. If I need to update one piece of logic, I have to edit it in several places.
For example:Webhook
↓
Validate Data
↓
Authenticate
↓
Business Logic
↓
Send Notification
I’m considering moving common logic into sub-workflows using Execute Workflow, but I’m unsure if that’s the best long-term approach.
For those managing large n8n projects:
How do you organize reusable workflow components?
Do you use sub-workflows for shared logic, or do you prefer another pattern?
How do you handle versioning when multiple workflows depend on the same sub-workflow
What is the error message (if any)?
Please share your workflow
(Select the nodes on your canvas and use the keyboard shortcuts CMD+C/CTRL+C and CMD+V/CTRL+V to copy and paste the workflow.)
Share the output returned by the last node
