Permission Request to Use n8n Screenshots for Educational Student Handouts

Dear n8n Team,

I am an educator conducting an online learning program for high school students focused on building smart automation workflows. As part of this educational initiative, we plan to introduce students to workflow automation concepts and guide them in creating simple automation workflows using the n8n platform.

For instructional purposes only, we would like to request your permission to:

  • Include screenshots of the n8n interface in student learning handouts,

  • Demonstrate step-by-step workflow creation during live teaching sessions,

  • Guide students in building small educational workflows as part of their classroom activities.

This program is strictly educational, non-commercial, and intended to help students understand modern automation technologies. Proper attribution to n8n will be included wherever screenshots or references are used.

We would greatly appreciate your approval and any guidelines you may recommend for using n8n materials in educational content.

Thank you for your time and support. We look forward to your response.

Hi @abinaya_inbamani ,

i am not a n8n team member but because n8n is “fair-code” (which means the source code is open and free to use for almost everyone, including schools), they are generally very supportive of education.

the best way to get the official “Yes” :

Send an Email to Support You should send your request directly to [email protected] or [email protected]

They can give you the official written approval you might need for your school administration.
They love hearing about educational use cases and might even offer you extended trial credits or resources for your students.

While you wait for their reply, you are generally safe to use screenshots for teaching. Just make sure to follow their Brand Guidelines (e.g., don’t distort the logo) if you put them on slides.

Send that email—I am sure they will be happy to help you inspire the next generation of automators!

hope this helps!
