Scheduled quote follow-ups with Gmail + Sheets — because most quotes die from silence, and most automations die silently too

Hi all — this one came from a pattern I kept seeing in small service businesses: you send a quote, the customer goes quiet, and the quote just… expires. Not because they chose a competitor — because nobody followed up.

Most templates are fair-weather demos. This one is built for the day things go wrong:

  • ✓ Re-running never double-sends — sequence state lives in the sheet, not inside the workflow (double guard: quote status + per-step sent flags)
  • ✓ A crash mid-run can’t cause a double email tomorrow — the sheet is stamped right after each send, and the Gmail/Sheets calls retry 3× on transient failures
  • ✓ The full follow-up history is visible at a glance in the sheet (who, when, which step)
  • ✓ Setup notes live on the canvas: one sheet with the listed headers, two Google credentials, done

What it does: you keep quotes in a Google Sheet (customer, amount, sent date). Once a day the workflow finds what’s due and sends the right touch — day 3, day 7, day 14, each with its own tone (friendly nudge → value reminder → polite close-out) — writing every send back to the sheet. Mark a quote won or lost and the follow-ups stop instantly. No AI key needed; the templates are plain text, so it runs 100% free.

Feedback welcome — I’m curious how others decide follow-up cadence: fixed days, quote size, or customer type?
