Set up a tool to manage translations, such as Weblate or Crowdin. This would help prevent unofficial translations in third-party GitHub repositories that eventually become outdated.
My use case:
Translate easily using an interface, without directly editing the JSON file. View strings that haven’t been translated yet
I think it would be beneficial to add this because:
This would make translation easier, and thus lead to more translations. As a result, it would make n8n more accessible to non-English-speaking users.
Any resources to support this?
Are you willing to work on this?
I can’t really get involved in setting up the tool. But I’d be happy to help with the French translation once the tool is up and running.
If I understand it correctly, n8n would fit best as the backend orchestration layer here, while the translation work itself could be handled through a dedicated UI such as Weblate or Crowdin, or even a custom frontend that talks to n8n through webhook/API calls.
That approach would keep the translation process safer and easier to use, especially if you want people to review strings without editing JSON directly.
I also explored a similar frontend + n8n pattern in my own Chrome extension / translator work, so I think this direction makes sense.
No, my idea is more about making it easier to translate the n8n editor directly. At the moment, only the English version is available here. The idea is to use a tool to make it easier for people to contribute translations into other languages.
