Site completely de-indexed abruptly

I know nothing about anything AWS. I do web dev and SEO, and as such this came to my attention. I hired someone to build an app for us. It’s hosted here on an AWS server. At the same time we set it up, Google de-indexed almost the entire site. We are down from about 1700 pages to just a dozen or so. This was very abrupt. Could the AWS server have anything to do with this?
