Snowflake: Plans to support OAuth, Key-pair

n8n currently only supports authenticating to Snowflake using a username & password. Snowflake is blocking single-factor password authentication by November 2025.

Also, see this whitepaper

Are there plans to add OAuth or key-pair support for programmatic Snowflake “SERVICE” users in n8n in response to this Snowflake security policy change?

Hey @radian21,

We have an internal dev ticket of NODE-2493 to get this added soon, I don’t have any timelines for this but it will be before November.

Thanks @Jon. Is there a way I can track and follow the dev ticket number you provided NODE-2493? Looks like that might be an ID in a Jira change management system.

Is there any update on the timing of this? I am trying to schedule an automation that queries snowflake, but my company requires MFA. This means I’ll have to respond the authenticator app prompt every time the schedule triggers which kind of makes the automation pointless.

+1 for this

Yeah, this should be standard. Already exists in Make. Kind of a deal breaker if you want to use Snowflake for automations with MFA enabled which is the standard on all new accounts and they do not provide the ability to alter the account to not use it.

if we cannot get any timeline on this, then I think I will not be able to use n8n for this project sadly.

Boa tarde! tem alguma previsão ou pespectiva de quando entrará a release da atualização para autenticação via keypair ou Oauth

+1; Cannot use n8n without it sadly.
