SQL nodes (both MySQL and MSSQL) unexpected doubles

Hi,

when using the MySQL node (same for MSSQL node) and I type a query, my last statement doubles in the execution.

For example, this query:
SELECT something FROM MyTable WHERE anItem = ‘Yellow’

After SAVING the workflow, and then looking back into the node, and what it will actually output, it reads (and exectutes) this:

SELECT something FROM MyTable WHERE anItem = ‘YellowYellow’

Now when I expand the query like this:

SELECT something FROM MyTable WHERE anItem = ‘Yellow’ AND anotherItem = ‘Blue’

after saving, the query reads & executes like this:

SELECT something FROM MyTable WHERE anItem = ‘Yellow’ AND anotherItem = ‘BlueBlue’

Now I can prevent this by adding ‘–’ to the end, so this will be the result:
SELECT something FROM MyTable WHERE anItem = ‘Yellow’ AND anotherItem = ‘Blue’ –

And this will return and execute the correct result.

Running version 1.26.0, but today talked to a colleague running 1.28.x and he sees the same behaviour. Self hosted and Docker.

Is this intentional behaviour?

Thanks,
Maarten

It looks like your topic is missing some important information. Could you provide the following if applicable.

  • n8n version:
  • Database (default: SQLite):
  • n8n EXECUTIONS_PROCESS setting (default: own, main):
  • Running n8n via (Docker, npm, n8n cloud, desktop app):
  • Operating system:

Version: 1.26.0
Database: Postgress
n8n EXECUTIONS_PROCESS setting (default: own, main): not sure
Runnign n8n via Docker
Operating System: Ubuntu 22.04LTS

Hey @maartend,

Thanks for the report, I have just taken a look and we of course shouldn’t be showing that value twice, I have done some testing with MySQL though and it doesn’t look like the double value is sent twice so this looks to be more of a cosmetic issue.

I will get a dev ticket created to look into this.

Thanks Jon, I just got slapped on the fingers here as well. Aplogies, indeed the execution is working well, just the on-screen incorrect.

Thanks for your quick follow up!
