For anyone stuck like I was and the structured output is not working with a "Failed to parse agent steps" error – update your n8n to the latest beta as there appears to be a bug that was fixed.
I’m on 2.30.0 now and the error has disappeared and I’m getting a proper structured output from the Basic LLM Chain node now.
