Telegram AI Support Bot — built and live-tested end to end (with a nasty hidden bug I found along the way)

Wanted to share a workflow I built and actually tested for real — not just pinned test data, but real Telegram messages hitting a live bot, real OpenAI replies, and real writes to Google Sheets.

What it does: Telegram Trigger → AI Agent (with conversation memory, remembers last 10 messages) → replies to the customer + logs the full conversation (timestamp, question, answer) to a Google Sheet. Replies in whatever language the customer writes in, no extra setup needed.

The bug I found: the Google Sheets append node silently failed on every real execution when using defineBelow mapping with a hand-authored schema — threw “Column names were updated after the node’s setup” even though validate_workflow and pinned test runs both reported success. Only caught it by checking real execution history instead of trusting the test runner. Fixed by switching to autoMapInputData with a Set node flattening the row first. Sharing this in case it saves someone else the debugging time.

I also packaged this as a ready-to-import template (business-agnostic system prompt, so it drops into any small business — shops, salons, consultants, etc.) if anyone’s interested — happy to share details in the comments.
