Describe the problem/error/question

I am building my first production workflow. Starting small.

Wanna use Webhook’s JSON data as part of the URL in the following “HTTP Request” node.

Information on your n8n setup

  • n8n version: Just updated to latest today

Now I have Webhook → HTTP Request.

Should I throw a Core between them, like this, and may be Core can process the data and … not sure.

Webhook → Core → HTTP Request

Got it!

In “HTTP Request” node, don’t use the URL GET parameter in “URL”.

Select “Send Query Parameters”, then Query Parameters → Name and Query Parameters → Value.

In Value:
{{ $json.body.xxxxx }}

I didnt know how to reference the variables in HTTP Request node. :grinning_face:

if you’re running in community plan, you can use Set node just before the HTTP Request, and save your variable there. You can also add Execution Data node if you need it in another node in the same workflow

Actually, you can reference variables inside the HTTP node directly. The easiest option is to drag’n’drop the variable from the left panel into any field you need inside the HTTP node.
