Warning: Fraudulent Freelancer in n8n Community – Yevgen

Hi n8n Community,

I want to report a freelancer named @Yevgen, who scammed me. I hired him to build an AI agent for a humanitarian project and sent him $120 upfront as part of a $1,000 agreement. It has now been over two weeks, and he has not responded to any of my messages or done any work.

Can someone from the n8n community administration please reach out to him and take action? I want to warn others so they don’t fall victim to the same scam.

Any advice on recovering my money would also be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

Sad to know that. Be professional is always mandatory :frowning:

You can share the process you are trying to create at Help me Build my Workflow - n8n Community

Perhaps somebody could help you

Sorry to hear that, scammers are everywhere so it’s very important to be cautions and to do background checks before fully committing.

Also, it’s important to mention that more than a freelancer to build the agent you need a partner someone you could trust as in production you would require guidance on handling 3rd party API updates, doing tests and not willing to drop you out after the project has ended.

Sorry to hear that! It is good to be aware of such a thing in the community.

It is always good to do interviews and try your best to get background on the freelancer/agency, usually thru website investigation, previous work, or even a public vetted profile like on upwork.

We have 2 long standing trusted profiles on UpWork (personal and agency) with lots of history to help prove such to new clients.

Thanks @Miquel for the advice, It’s really unfortunate that this happened, especially for a humanitarian project.

Hi n8n Community Team,

I want to report a fraudulent freelancer I hired through the n8n community. We agreed that he would build an **AI agent for Humanitarian project called UnityAid ** for $1,000, with an initial payment of $120 and the remaining $780 upon completion.

After receiving the $120 upfront, he stopped responding to my messages and has not done any work. It has now been two weeks without any response.

I am requesting guidance on how to report this scammer and prevent others from being deceived. Please advise on any possible steps to recover my money.

I am sorry you have to go through that.
Personally I would just tell us his name, but I would understand why you would not do that.

There is an expert page with vetted experts here: https://experts.n8n.io/

Of course we are not really able to help you get your money back.
Maybe you can get it through the payment provider, but probably not.
