I am using the most recent verson of N8N and the database that I am using is a cvs file. I understand that in order for N8N to work they use an API Request and then they will convert it into a json file so that we can use it in the workflow. But what I am trying to learn is what kind of API request do they use?
It looks like your topic is missing some important information. Could you provide the following if applicable.
- n8n version:
- Database (default: SQLite):
- n8n EXECUTIONS_PROCESS setting (default: own, main):
- Running n8n via (Docker, npm, n8n cloud, desktop app):
- Operating system:
I don’t understand the question, When you say API request what are you referring to? Like HTTP requests or reading the CSV file?
I mean HTTP request. There are different kinds of HTTP request and I was wondering what kind of HTTP request do you guys do?
Assuming you mean request methods we can do most of the common ones with the http request and webhook node.
If you are referring to sending data over HTTP or HTTPS you can pretty much send what you want, If you want to do REST that is not a problem, If you want to do SOAP you can, XML-RPC… sure.
Thank you so much for your response which one does N8N use the most?
To be honest I don’t think that really matters as it all depends on the API being used and what users select in their workflow.
If you can be more specific in your question I may be able to provide more of an answer but because of how n8n works.
As an example to read a csv file depending on where it lives there may not be an http api request and it may be a local file read, To trigger the workflow it could be a timer / schedule, A webhook, an http request to a service for polling or a message being picked up from a queue or email.
