Whatsapp send node and test accounts

Hi, first timer here.
I am using eval accounts for both n8n and whatsapp business cloud.
I can successfully send test messages from meta’s dev portal.
My n8n flow connects fine to whatsapp business cloud, the connection is verified. It detects the test number, and if I trigger a send it completes, but no messages arrive.
There is a “warnid” response., but nothing is logged on meta.

Why meta had to make it so complicated is beyond me, but after a ton of searching and video watching, I can’t find anything obvious.

Pointers appreciated.

Hi there, i’ve used whatsapp in n8n, and have used the test numbers

but the way i test it , i never use meta’s dev portal

what i use instead is that i will use my real number to start a conversation with the test number

that will open a 24 hour free window for the test number to send any message to me

so you can try to set up the whatsapp node to send message to this number

you can start with a whatsapp trigger node to listen for incoming message, then you will get all the necessarry data to send the message to that number
