Why can't I pay for more Memory/RAM?

I have constant issues (environment reboots) that feel, smell, and in some cases claim to be out-of-memory issues. I’m on the Pro Plan (hosted cloud). Why can’t I pay for more hardware? Is there a way?

Hi @DPAM i understand your problem, but the only thing you could do on n8n cloud plans is to either upgrade to the enterprise plan for more ram, or you could just self host your own if memory is a big issue for you.

Been hesitant about self-hosting because I just don’t need another step/headache/responsibility (Not a technical limitation on my part, just acknowledgement of reality that anything like that is time/cycles). But I was just sitting here thinking/lamenting the fact that I may have to cross that bridge.

Sure wish N8N would just take my money instead… (at least for now)

Hi @DPAM you can upgrade to enterprise plan as i have said.

BUT, if you think that self hosting n8n is more of a DevOps job than you are little incorrect see what i have mentioned in my article about Hostinger plans, and also if you wish you can just upgrade on cloud, but if your memory usage is really high it is relatively a one time pain for solving the problem. (just upgrade to the cloud if you dont want it)

Glad it helped, consider marking that as a solution to let others also know what they can do on cloud plans on similar limitations.

Ya, but that’s 15x the cost. I’m on $60 and would pay 2x if really needed but 15x is a lot. Supabase, for example, has really reasonable step-up costs. Seems weird to me these guys would drive me to leave for self-hosted rather than take my money.

-Also, I find the ‘fake cheap early price’ and ‘force you to prepay 1-2 years’ at places like Hostinger really distasteful and a sign of a company that over time I’d regret doing business with. I like your DigitalOcean suggestion and will look into that. Thx.

@DPAM I dont think its accurate to frame it as being “forced” into self hosting, but i agree that there should be some middle ground between pro and higher plans, but tbh the one who dont find PRO plan suitable usage wise means that there requirements are no above average so its just a clear thing to buy that upgrade, for now i think you should go with whatever you find suitable.

Just mark that as a solution if it helped.
