Wonderings about default start-trigger

I’m a bit confused about the default “start”-trigger.

Is it correct, that I cannot delete the default trigger, even if I use only other triggers to start the workflow?

Yes, it can not be deleted as every workflow has to contain it (you can also not create more than one). However, it does not have to be connected.

It is required that n8n knows where to start the execution from when for example testing via the UI, when started via CLI and when started via the Execute Workflow-Node.
