Information on your n8n setup

  • n8n version: 1.100.1

I’m having an issue with the AI Agent configuration in n8n. When I first created my account, the parameter options in the agent node were different. There used to be fields labeled “Agent” and “Prompt”. Now those fields have been replaced with “Source for Prompt (User Message)” and “Prompt (User Message)”. This change has affected how I build my workflows, and I’m not sure how to revert to the previous setup or adjust accordingly.

I’ve attached screenshots below to illustrate the change.

Does anyone know how I can switch back to the old parameter format or understand why this change occurred?

Have you tried to switch the first option to “define below”?

The uncomfortable thing is probably that the default option is different.

Yes, I’ve already tried changing several options, and in all the ones I changed, the old options still don’t appear. Even if I create a new project or a new workflow. I’m using the trial period, and I’m not sure if that might affect any settings. But since the option appeared the first time I created it, I believe it should still appear, even during the trial period.

Below is a screenshot of the options that appear for me. Even after trying all of them, I wasn’t able to recreate the workflow I had made before.

I believe the option you’re seeking is the first “Connected Chat Trigger Node,” indicating that the prompt originates from the preceding node.
