Cannot update entity because entity id is not set in the entity

Hello all,

We had a healthy instance for a long time and recently started to get “Cannot update entity because entity id is not set in the entity.” error when I try to create a new workflow. I don’t have much knowledge about the backend of the instance but here is what I know: the instance is setup on AWS EC2 and database is MySql. I know there are similar posts about this issue, but I couldn’t get a solution from these posts. Can you please help me find the issue and solution here?

Information on your n8n setup

  • n8n version: 0.233.1
  • Database (default: SQLite): MySql
  • n8n EXECUTIONS_PROCESS setting (default: own, main): don’t know what this is :frowning:
  • Running n8n via (Docker, npm, n8n cloud, desktop app): Docker
  • Operating system: Ubuntu (if the question is the platform info on aws instance)

Hi Beste,

Can you please provide more details.

It’s hard to understand what is your problem.

Which id?
Which node?
Workflow for what?

and etc.

Hello @Azradex I get this error without any details actually. I just hit Add Workflow, change the name of the workflow, hit Save and get this error. It doesn’t save the workflow at all. It doesn’t matter if I add any nodes or not. Here is a screenshot of the error I’m getting.
